Plant Studies at the Community Farm of Ann Arbor
*The event has already taken place on this date: Wed, 10/24/2018
You might call these meditative exercises or botany lessons. We think of them as chances to learn from a plant. To understand a plant you have to slow down and focus your attention. Developing these skills and exercising our senses in the service of awareness bring positive results in many areas of life. In addition, the plants’ teachings are always inspiring. Dress for being outside in whatever weather prevails. We will be sitting for a long time. You can bring a chair or mat if you want. A field lens or magnifying glass is fun, but not necessary. Anyone who wants to participate and can sit quietly for 2 hours is welcome. You must be present for the entire time — it is not possible to start late or leave early.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
These lessons are free to members. A donation to the farm of $5 per person is suggested for non-members. You must register for these in advance (by the day before) by calling Karen Chalmer at 734-475-7451.
