2018 STEAM Summer Camp – Metal Sculpture

Learn a variety of metalworking methods including forging, casting pewter, plasma cutting, and spot welding. Explore the use of additional tools in the workshops at Maker Works and learn design skills which enable you to create your own custom sculpture.

Do you want to harness the power of the sun to cut Metal? Shape metal with your mind and hands? Then join Maker Works for an exciting metal workshop for kids. Students will be introduced to a variety of metalworking methods including Forging, Casting pewter, Plasma Cutting and other various other tools. Students will learn tool skills and designing for working with metal, allowing them to create their own custom sculptures.

Students must wear closed toed shoes and natural fiber clothing (Cotton, Denim). Avoid loose/baggy items. Long hair must be pulled back from the face. Leather gloves are encouraged.

Please pack a bagged lunch, we will provide light snacks.

Forge, cast, weld, and plasma cut your idea into reality!
