Kinderscience Camp: What’s the Weather?
Date: June 20 – 22

Grades: 4 - 5 year olds

Rain or shine, you’re sure to enjoy these hands-on weather activities. We’ll learn about different types of weather as we use science tools to observe the sky, make a piece of cloud art, create and decorate a windsock, make a sunny color-changing creation, play weather games, and more. You’ll even design and assemble a weather journal to take home!
Fairy Tale Engineering

Maybe fairy tales do exist!? Help a famous storybook character solve a tricky engineering problem.
Kinderscience Camp: Fun with Physics

How does a ball roll? Can you make a car move without an engine? How do magnets work? Let’s figure out the answers to these questions (and many more) in this hands-on exploration of forces and motion!

The 4th of July is right around the corner! We’ll learn about important American symbols as we create red, white, and blue projects to commemorate the upcoming holiday.
Mini-Masterpiece

Let your imagination run wild! Use science, engineering, mathematics, and creativity to design, build, test, and re-build your own mini-masterpieces.
Planet Patrol
Date: Wednesday, July 6
Time: 9 – 11 a.m.

3…2…1…Blast off! Join us as we learn about the planets, stars, and moons in our solar system. Create your own constellation, make a mini rocket blaster, and learn about moon craters. We’ll even step into the Planetarium Dome to patrol these phenomena up close.
Shifting Shapes
Date: Thursday, July 7
Time: 1 – 3 p.m.
Grades: 4 - 5 year olds
Cost: $9
Explore geometry while learning about shapes. Combine squares to make rectangles; take squares apart to make triangles. Use everyday materials to create mathematic works of art. You’ll make a math game to take home, too.
Kinderscience Camp: Living in Color
Date: July 18 – 20
Time: 9 – 11:30 a.m.
Grades: 4 - 5 year olds

Let’s learn all about plants and animals that are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Maybe we’ll discover some other colors along the way, too. We’ll learn about camouflage, go on a nature hunt, grow a plant in a bottle, build a mini animal shelter, and so much more.
Treasure Hunters

“X” marks the spot! Sharpen your geography skills as you learn about maps, globes, and navigation. We’ll use maps and clues to hunt for special treasures, examine our findings with science tools, and create our own maps to take home.
Kinderscience Camp: Engineering Investigation

Join our engineering investigation as you build your own creations using science tools and everyday materials. Each day will start with a toolbox challenge, followed by a variety of STEM-based activities and projects.
Mix-It-Up

Get ready to mix-it-up! We’ll explore mixtures, engage in color-mixing chemistry, and showcase our learning with a colorfully scientific work of art. You may want to dress down for this one – It’ll get a little messy!
Kinderscience Camp: Let’s Get Kindergarten Ready!

Time: 1 – 3:30 p.m.
Grades: 4 - 5 year olds

If your little one is starting Kindergarten in the Fall, this is a great opportunity for them to get a “jump start” on their science, math, and literacy learning. Your child will engage in standards-based activities in a fun and exciting way! We’ll learn about the needs of living things, explore force and motion, predict weather patterns, make a math game, and create a name book to take home.
My Senses and Me

Explore your 5 senses with this hands-on experience. You’ll observe, touch, hear, smell, and even taste exciting science experiments.
Teddy Bear Picnic

Location: Longway Planetarium

Bring your favorite stuffed friend for a picnic in the Longway Planetarium garden. Let’s go on a bear hunt, mix-up lemonade to drink, and play bear-themed math games.
