After migrating to its new home, the U-M Museum of Natural History is now open with more exhibits to come in the fall!
Embedded among the labs at U-M's new Biological Sciences Building, the museum doesn't just preserve the past; it also shows off the latest in scientific research with interactive exhibits, new programming spaces, and a state-of-the-art Planetarium & Dome Theater!
Weekends are a great time to visit the UMMNH! We provide science-focused activities to engage all members of your family! Free tours, hands-on demonstrations, and lab chats are scheduled throughout the day. Visit the museum's website for more details and the daily event schedule.
Weekend Events:
- Museum Highlights Tours, 10:00-10:30am & 2:00-2:30pm
- Wonderful World of Whales Tours, 12:00-12:30pm & 4:00-4:30pm
- Scientist in the Forum where U-M scientists explain their research, 1:00-1:15pm
- Science Demonstrations, 11:00-11:20am & 3:00-3:20pm
- Biodiversity and Paleo Lab Chats, 11:30am-12:00pm & 3:30-4:00pm
- Hands-on demonstrations in the exhibits, times vary
Admission to the museum is FREE.
