Youth Poetry Slam at Royal Oak Public Library

Calling all poets, writers, and performers ages 7 to 11! In this fun for poetry SLAM program, there are no judges since the objective is to expose children to performance poetry. The poem can be the poet’s own work or you can recite a favorite poem from a book of poetry as well. Poems can be on any subject and in any style. Each poet gets a maximum of three minutes. Props, music, or costumes are not
allowed. Please note, your selection must not contain offensive material and be age appropriate for elementary school students. After the poetry slam, the event is celebrated with refreshments!
