Apple Scouts Summer Camp
Apple Scouts Summer Day Camp embarks on daily field trips exploring the natural areas in Ann Arbor. Respect and compassion for our natural spaces provide the backdrop for a program that explores the ecology of the region as well as how communities, both past and present, utilized these resources in their daily lives. Sign up for 2 week sessions, each providing a different theme to guide our exploration. Camp runs from 8:30-3:30 with aftercare option of 3:30-5:30.
June 17-28: Wilderness Skills 101:Learn the basics of outdoor safety, from identifying poisonous plants to building shelter and more!
July 1-5: Nature Tools (4 day camp):Build comfort and confidence using natural pigments and materials for arts, crafts and tools.
July 8-19: Amazing Plants!:Become an expert in identifying local flora and how these species play a role in our day to day lives!
July 22-August 2: The Secret World of Insects: Discover insect and arachnid ecology, identification strategies, and their amazing adaptations.
August 5-August 16: The Great Nature Scavenger Hunt!: Use your detective skills as we travel through city parks searching for plants, animals and hidden treasures.
