Join us on Saturday, February 22, at 1:00pm at Cranbrook Art Museum for a special afternoon of poetry in partnership with InsideOut Literary Arts. Hosted by La Shaun phoenix Moore, this event features dynamic poetry readings by some of Detroit's finest poets including Michigan Poet Laureate Nandi Comer, a Q&A with the poets, and an open mic opportunity!
This reading is presented alongside "How We Make the Planet Move: The Detroit Collection Part I," an exhibition honoring Detroit’s rich artistic legacy from the 1960s to today. Taking its name from a poem by Detroit-born jessica Care moore, the exhibition reflects the spirit of resilience and creativity that defines the city.
Founded in 1995, InsideOut Literary Arts has empowered over 70,000 Metro Detroit students through life-changing literary arts experiences.
This event is free with museum admission. Children 12 & under always free.
