Welcome to a world of creativity and self-expression! This class is a journey that will improve your drawing skills while encouraging you to explore your unique style. Making art is a powerful way to take control of your creative choices. You'll learn to draw realistically while not being limited by it.
Sasha, our artist and educator, believes that if you can write your name in cursive, you can draw! So, grab a pencil or charcoal, and let's get started! Learning to draw is a way to slow down and learn to see. It helps us understand the world around us, appreciate its beauty, and express ourselves fully.
Drawing helps us become immersed in our present world, allowing us to enter a flow state that frees us from our minds' cages. It gives us the gift of becoming students of the outside world again, teaching us to notice the extraordinary beauty of ordinary things around us. And through the flow state, we can find our inner voice, leading us to our style and voice as artists.
This course teaches artistic techniques such as line, form, shading, and more. You'll engage your authentic self-expression and feel encouraged to be yourself! Improving your art skills and knowledge is tied to learning how to draw what you see rather than what you think you see. This course teaches artistic techniques to identify and harness your intuition through engaging "drawing on the right side of the brain" techniques.
In this warm, non-competitive class, designed for adults and teens 15+, you will learn the fundamentals of drawing and how to express yourself fully, feeling the freedom and joy of your inner creativity! All art materials will be supplied; you only need your creativity and imagination.
