Edison speaks to a group of reporters visiting his complex on the day after his first public demonstration of the world’s first practical incandescent light bulb on Dec. 31, 1879.

Home from Kitty Hawk

Experience the thrill of the Wright brothers’ first flight as they take you back to that amazing and inspiring day in this 20-minute play. Fly back in time with Orville, Wilbur, and their sister, Katharine, as they take you on a dramatic journey through their experiments, struggles, and joys. The audience joins them on December 23, 1903 just after the brothers return home from Kitty Hawk. They recount their amazing and inspiring first flights that made history on December 17 of that year and forever changed the world.

How I Got Over

Experience inspiring stories, songs and slave narratives in this powerful 20-minute show. Music played a major role in the struggle of enslaved Africans to survive the oppression they met on plantations like Susquehanna Plantation. The reenactment of a "Buh Rabbit" tale told in verse is a favorite with our visitors. This dramatic presentation shares inspirational stories of endurance and empowerment through slave narratives left behind, and through the hopeful music and storytelling that sustained them as they hoped for freedom.
