Home School Electricity and Light

Nankin Mills has a history of producing hydroelectric waterpower, the generator can still be seen in the museum. Learn how this early 1900s creation of sustainable, clean power worked and how similar power production is still used today!

Info about Program: Nankin Mills has a history of producing hydroelectric waterpower, the generator can still be seen in the museum. Learn how this early 1900s creation of sustainable, clean power worked and how similar power production is still used today! To celebrate this history, we will experiment with circuits, prisms, UV lights, and more. This will definitely be a program with a lot of hands-on activities.
We will cancel only in extreme weather conditions. In this case, you will be emailed by 4:00 PM on the day before the program and given credit for a future program.
Registration Start: February 21, 2025
Registration End: April 10, Noon
Fee: $6 per student; Add $1 for Non-County Residents. Chaperones are free, but please only register students for home school programs.
Ages: Five and older. Siblings younger than five years are free for this program.
Limit: 25 students
