Planetary Alignment Party

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 01/25/2025
Ready to party? Join Cranbrook Institute of Science astronomers and members of the Warren Astronomical Society as they guide you through a galactic planetary alignment on Saturday, January 25!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

A planetary alignment is a celestial phenomenon, also known as conjunction, that occurs when multiple planets appear close together in the night sky from Earth's perspective.

Catch Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Neptune, and Uranus lined up in the sky—though the last two you’ll need to use one of the Institute’s telescopes to see!

This experience includes:

Out-of-this-world views! Stop by our Cranbrook Observatory for a close-up view of this fascinating celestial event.

Astronomical exploration! Grab a seat at the Acheson Planetarium to explore our night sky and learn more about planetary alignments.

Cosmic Chats! Talk with real astronomers about the alignment, ask questions, and discuss all things cosmic.

And so much more.

Pre-registration is highly recommended.

It’s going to be a stellar evening you won’t want to miss!
