Press & Release: A writing/making workshop for high school students

The broadsides, prints and books of the Al-Mutanabbi Street Starts Here exhibition serve as an example of how an event can serve as a catalyst for a larger response by a community. What are the events that press us to respond? How do we choose the right form and forum for sharing our words and ideas? Students will participate in sessions that explore elements of written and spoken-word poetry and the art and craft of artist books, 'zines and posters. Session concludes with an open-mic performance. Workshop led by Alise Alouisi and additional artists TBA.
Ideal for teens in grades 9-12; limited to 25 students
