Resident Camp at Howell Nature Center

At Howell Nature Center’s Summer Resident Camp, days are spent swimming, canoeing, crafting, playing outdoor games (including Gaga Ball, of course), enjoying campfires, learning archery, and so much more.

In addition, campers are challenged on the high ropes course, 500-foot zip line, and 60-foot climbing tower.
Campers enjoy modern lodges complete with attached bathrooms and air conditioning.
Each week has a different theme to choose from, and many camps include off-site activities.
June 20-24- High School Extreme- Rising 9th-12th Grade $480
Start your summer off right!!! This action packed week begins on-site where campers get to scale our 60-ft climbing tower, conquer our high ropes course, and sail at night on our new multiple zip line Glow Tour. Then we will head down to Camp Sandusky and spend two days at Soak City and Cedar Point.
June 26-July 1-West Coast Cruise Excursion Camp-Rising 7th-9th Grade $400
Easy level camping and canoeing trip open for middle school students. Travel the shores of Lake Michigan and discover the beautiful scenery our state has to offer. visit towering dunes, secluded river preserves, and the cool waters of OUR lake! (Application required, early bird discount does not apply.)
July 5-8- Wild N’ Wacky Camp- Rising 4th-6th Grade $340
Take a walk on the wild side! Campers will enjoy swimming, archery, fishing, horseback riding, as well as Wacky Sports Day and our infamous Yuk Olympics. Campers will scale our 60-ft climbing tower and ride on our 500ft zip line.
July 10-15- Middle School Adventure- Rising 6th-8th Grade $415
Break up your summer routine with a week of camp designed just for you! Experience a week of fun with swimming, fishing, horseback riding, archery and more. We will also make an off-site trip to the Huron River for an afternoon of canoeing. Campers will scale our 60ft tower, traverse our high ropes course, and take a ride on our Eco Zip Tour.
July 10-15- Junior Zoo Keeper Camp- Rising 3rd-6th Grade $395
Want to know more about God’s fascinating creatures? Try something brand new with this one of a kind opportunity. Work hand in-glove with our amazing Wildlife Department through demonstrations and tours.
Campers will also participate in classic camp activities along with climbing our 60ft tower, and flying through the air on our 500ft zip line.
July 10-22- Counselor-in-Training Camp – Rising 11th-12th Grade $550
Do you want to be a counselor at the Howell Nature Center one day? The CIT program is a great way to introduce you to everything that goes into being a camp counselor. CIT’s will spend their first week in a modified week of camp, with time split between camp activities and portions of training, while planning and running our You and Me Camp the following weekend. CIT’s will also get to traverse our high ropes course and fly on our Glow Zip Tour. During the second week of camp, CIT’s will be paired with a counselor and assigned to a cabin to experience what it is truly like to be an amazing role model in the overnight resident camp setting.
July 15-17- You and Me Camp – Rising K-3rd Grade Adults-$120/ Kids- $60
You and Me camp is a perfect experience for the first time camper, especially because they won’t be coming alone. You and Me Camp is designed for a parent, grandparent or guardian to join their child in all the awesome camp activities the HNC has to offer. While some activities are done together such as swimming, archery and canoeing, there are also times through-out the weekend where we split the group. This will allow time for your child to express their independence and prepare them to come to camp by themselves in the future.
July 17-22- Reaching Higher Adventure Camp- Rising 5th-7th Grade $415
Ready for a brand new experience of high-flying antics here at the Howell Nature Center? You will fly on our Zip Tour, traverse both of our High Ropes Courses, and climb our 60-ft climbing tower. Campers will also participate in traditional camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, archery and will share in Christian fellowship.
July 31-August 5- Lakeshore Adventure Camp- Rising 7th-9th Grade $480
Experience our most popular camp! We will begin on-site where campers get to scale our 60ft climbing tower, conquer our high ropes course, and fly on our Eco Zip Tour. Then we will take a charter bus to Interlochen State Park where we will take day trips to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, tubing the Platt River, and visit Michigan’s Adventure Theme Park.
August 7-12- Amazing Adventures Camp- Rising 3rd-5th Grade $395
Bring an end to your summer vacation with Amazing Adventures Camp! Participate in activities such as archery, fishing, swimming, our 60ft climbing tower and 500-ft zip line.
August 21-26 Royale Endeavor on the Isle-Rising 10th – 12th Grade $500
Test your grit in the backcountry of Michigan’s only National Park. This advanced camping, climbing, and hiking excursion for high school aged students is sure to push your skills. Take the path less traveled and join us on this exclusive endeavor. (Application required, early bird discount does not apply.)
