Name of Program: Sensory Reptile and Amphibian Encounters
Date and Time: Friday, April 4, 7:00 PM-8:30 PM
Location: Nankin Mills Interpretive Center
Info about Program: This program is ideal for individuals with sensory processing challenges. The various reptiles and amphibians of the nature center will be on display as a naturalist explains the adaptations of the animals. From a tactile standpoint, students will be able to hold various shells, other bones, snakeskins, and more. Sensory toys such as fidget spinners will be available. We will also have several noise-cancelling headphones on hand. Naturalists will explain the order of the lesson to help kids to follow along and know what to expect and lights will be dimmed for a calming experience for all.
We will cancel only in extreme weather conditions. In this case, you will be emailed by 4:00 PM on the day before the program and given credit for a future program.
Registration Start: February 21, 2025
Registration End: April 4, 4:00 PM
Fee: $5 per person; Add $1 for Non-County Residents.
Ages: Five and older. Siblings younger than five years are free for this program.
Limit: 25 people
