This zoo is very large and offers a lot for families to do each time they visit. The zoo has amazing habitats to get up close to the animals including the new Polk Penguin Conservation Center, the Arctic Ring of Life, the Australian Outback and the Butterfly House. There are also weeknight concerts throughout the summer, a carousel for kids to ride on, and a number of family friendly events offered throughout the year.

Farmington Hills Ice Arena
The 70,000 square-foot Ice Arena contains two ice surfaces with a total seating capacity of 1,200 people. The arena offers concession facilities, locker rooms, lockers, meeting and party rooms as well as, administrative offices. Matthaei Botanical Gardens & Nichols Arboretum
A place for families to hike and explore the gardens and nature. There is a specific part of the gardens just for children, where they can get dirty in the digging pit, explore an oversized nest, and go through the winding maze. Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland

Approximately 100,000 twinkling lights illuminate Bronner’s half-mile long Christmas Lane every evening. Admission is free to both the store and Bronner’s Silent Night Memorial Chapel, a replica of the original in Austria on the site where “Silent Night” was first sung in 1818. Light refreshments are available in-store at Season’s Eatings snack area.
Detroit Historical Museum
The Detroit Historical Museum is the only museum dedicated to chronicling our region’s history.
