Our camp program involves humane education lessons on many topics depending on the session and age group. Some past topics have been pet photography, animal communication, bird identification and wildlife conservation. Participants will also visit with adoptable animals each day, provide enrichment and training with shelter animals and enjoy presentations from local rescue organizations.

The Ann Arbor JCC's Camp Raanana is a summer day camp for children entering Young Fives, all the way up through 8th grade. Operating at Cedar Lake in Chelsea, campers will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of fun outdoor activities, including swimming, boating, sports, arts and crafts, and so much more!

In this all-new camp, students will work in small STEAM Teams to mix up new slime classics based on children's stories like Alice's Unbirthday Cake Slime, Charlie's Everlasting Gobstopper Slime, Percy's Blue Cookie Slime, Narnia's Turkish Delight Slime and STEAMwarts Butter Beer Slime. In addition to making two slimes a day, every camper will also receive a copy of our book Surprise at Blow Cart Beach: A Challenge Island STEAM Adventure, which is filled with slimy science and treasures.

They will enjoy learning about the care and function of animals while helping in the barn, and will learn about the cycle of planting, growing and harvesting while helping out in the Farm Garden.

Students will work together in small STEAM Teams to learn about famous entrepreneurs, target markets, logo and slogan creation and more as they create their own businesses as PIZZApreneurs, SWEETrepreneurs, PETrepreneurs, HAUNTrepreneurs and SLIMEtrepreneurs. Can your STEAM Team convince the island sharks that their new businesses belong in the Challenge Island Mall?
