4-H Discovery Day 2016

Information will be available about joining 4-H and exhibiting at the Oakland County Fair.
The event has been hosted by MSUE Extension Oakland County 4-H Youth Development and the Oakland County Fair for over twenty years. This very special event is a discovery of all the opportunities 4-H and the fair have to offer. If you ever wanted to know what 4-H was – Discovery Day is the perfect time to find out! 4-H members and clubs will highlight their project areas with demonstrations and hands on activities. Several demos and activities will include animals (rabbits, poultry, dogs, goats, sheep, and calves), and other educational fun stuff such as archery, gardening, crafts and games!
The Oakland County 4-H Horse Court will also be offering a “mock horse show” for all ages in the horse area at Springfield Oaks County Park. This will be a no pressure, practice show for trail course, gymkhana (barrels, flags & Figure 8 stakes) and equitation patterns. Bring your horse or just watch! Show clothes are optional, negative coggins and waivers required. Trailer in only - stalls are NOT available. Show attire will be on display and announcer will explain the show process to those just learning and riders will receive some great tips for competition
