The Caribbean Cultural and Carnival Organization (CCCO), is a nonprofit organization, comprised of several organized groups in Michigan representing the numerous countries. The CCCO was officially formed in January 1979 with the following objectives: To promote and interpret Caribbean culture to the Metropolitan Detroit community through educational means and cultural activities, promote greater cooperation and unity among the Caribbean people living in the Metropolitan Detroit area and to highlight the unity of Caribbean community annually in August via Caribbean Festival, termed "CARIVAL: Caribbean International Festival & Parade".
