The Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation Services Instructional Skating Program is an official participant of the Learn to Skate USA Program sponsored by the US Figure Skating Association. This is a series of nationally administered badge tests used to measure skating skills. The tests provide a noncompetitive way of measuring skating skills and a feeling of self-achievement. All students in our kinderskate, beginner, intermediate and advanced classes will be tested on the badge skills and awarded badges when the skills have been successfully completed. Badge testing for adults is optional. All participants will have several chances to demonstrate each skill that must be mastered before moving to the next level.
