Our camp program involves humane education lessons on many topics depending on the session and age group. Some past topics have been pet photography, animal communication, bird identification and wildlife conservation. Participants will also visit with adoptable animals each day, provide enrichment and training with shelter animals and enjoy presentations from local rescue organizations.

In this live online course, we improve our print and cursive handwriting through reading and writing about people and events from American history as well as drawing them. Why drawing? Drawing develops some of the same muscle groups used for handwriting. It's also lots of fun! Recommended for ages 11-18. An ADULT SECTION is also available (meeting time is different. It will start at 9:30 AM PST and end at 10:30 AM PST).

Each day, our Creativity Camps are packed with fun and challenging activities that balance learning and play. Campers may experiment with a variety of mediums such as graphite, paint, pastels, charcoal, watercolor, sculptural materials, and more. Although we provide a lot of traditional art instruction, we also encourage campers to take what they’ve learned and apply it to outside-the-box projects.

Lighthouse offers a wide array of full and half-day summer camps from June through August for young writers ages eight to 18. Whether they've got a few novels under their belt, are new but curious about poems, or are a reluctant writer, our camps offer a fun, creative, and challenging way for young people to explore and express who they are, build new friendships, and create truly beautiful works of art.

The purpose of this live ONLINE course is to spark pre-teen/early teenage students' interest in reading classic books and to teach them to engage in Socratic discussion about themes, characters, plot, etc. We will also focus on history related to the stories. Our summer 2025 readings are selections from Homer’s The Iliad and The Odyssey. The cost is $150 for 22.5 hours of instruction June 16-Aug. 13, 2025.

Our Clay Camp curriculum is designed to teach pottery skills and to encourage the exploration of clay as a material for design, sculpture, and expression. Each week, campers learn to throw on the wheel in the mornings. Campers learn various hand-building techniques to create stunning sculptures, tiles, or functional items in the afternoons.

With the help of their ally STEAMaroo, a clever and friendly kangaroo islandmon, our STEAM Teams will tackle an island full of engineering challenges as they evolve into true STEAM Champions. Ready? Farm Camp is a four-day camp (Tues-Fri) filled with exciting experiences designed to engage and educate campers on all things farming! Held entirely outdoors, campers will not only totally unplug, but will get their hands dirty. They will enjoy learning about the care and function of animals while helping in the barn, and will learn about the cycle of planting, growing and harvesting while helping out in the Farm Garden.
